PITTSBURGH — An Egyptian-born nuclear physicist who worked in a
government-financed laboratory here for 18 years filed a lawsuit on Thursday
saying the Energy Department had revoked his security clearance because of
his
ethnicity, his Muslim faith and comments he made criticizing the war in
Iraq.
The physicist, Abdel Moniem Ali el-Ganayni, 57, lost his job
shortly
after his clearance was revoked in May by Jeffrey F. Kupfer, the
Department of
Energy’s acting deputy secretary, who cited “national
security” in refusing to
reveal what led to the revocation.
But Dr. Philip Zack, the man actually CAUGHT entering the storage lab where the anthrax used in the letters was kept, without authorization and after being fired for a racially motivated attack on an Egyptian co-worker, still has his security clearance and still works at a US government lab.
Yes, that demonstrates bias, and I hope Abdel Moniem Ali el-Ganayni wins his lawsuit against the government.
An internationalist Islamist organisation is submitting an application to the
European court tomorrow in an effort to overturn a ban on its activities in
Germany. Hizb ut-Tahrir, or the Party of Liberation, believes that the
five-year-old ban is unlawful and argues it should be free to campaign in the
country and have all frozen assets released

Avvisningen av de två egyptierna kritiseras
Amnesty kritiserar Sveriges

Two female islamists convicted in
Uzbekistan
Tashkent, June 20, Interfax - Two Hizb ut-Tahrir female activists,
Ugiloi Mirzayeva, 40, and Rano Akhrorkhodzhayeva, 37, were sentenced to five
years in prison with a two-year probation in Uzbekistan's Tashkent region for
recruiting new members to their organization and spreading extremist literature
and leaflets, a source with law enforcement agencies told Interfax. The court
handed out five-year sentences, but given that Mirzayeva is the mother of four
children, and Akhrorkhodzhayeva has three [children], the court ordered a
two-year probation, during which they will not be punished in line with Article
72" of the Uzbek Criminal Code, which provides for suspended sentence, the
source said.It was established during the judicial inquiry that Mirzayeva was a
high-ranking member of a Hizb ut-Tahrir cell in 2003-2005, and Akhrorkhodzhayeva
led Hizb ut-Tahrir activists in the district where she
lived."Akhrorkhodzhayeva's spouse tried to cease her illegal activity, while
Mirzayeva's spouse involved his wife in the Hizb ut-Tahrir activity himself,"
the source said.

Critics Demand Resignation of U.N. Investigator Who Supports Sept. 11 Conspiracy Theories.
critics are calling for the resignation of a U.N. investigator who supports Sept. 11 conspiracy theories and thinks the U.S. government may have planned the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon.

Richard Falk, the special rapporteur on human rights in the
Palestinian territories, investigates alleged Israeli violations of human rights
law for the U.N.'s Human Rights Council.
Israel wants Falk out of the UN, both because he doesn't "buy" the official story on 9/11, and because he has been highly critical of Israeli treatment of Palestinians.
And of course, what the article DOESN'T tell you is that this Hillel Neuer quoted in this article represents the Geneva-Based affiliate of the American Jewish Committee.
'Nuff said?!?!?

Democracy in DeclineBy Tony Blankley
The broad, sneering European-elite response to the plucky Irish
vote to oppose the further centralization of governmental power in the European
Union and the emerging opinion in China suggest that from Brussels to Shanghai,
democracy may be losing its appeal.

Dmitry Khavinson and Genevra Neumann didn’t know anything about
astrophysics. They were just doing mathematics, like they always do, following
their curiosity. In 2004, they posted a new result, an extension of the
fundamental theorem of algebra, on MathSciNet, a preprint server.http://www.sciencenews.org/view/generic/id/33082/title/Accidental_astrophysicists
The EDGE programme aims to protect the world’s forgotten species, including the Chinese giant salamander, which can grow up to 1.8 (6ft) in length. It evolved independently from all other amphibians, more than 100 million years before Tyrannosaurus rex.
The Islamist movement Hizb ut-Tahrir has revived by tapping energy among Europe’s immigrant communities and appealing to Muslims on the edge of Asia, and to Palestinians. But it is a marginal international grouping; could it retain its appeal if it engaged directly in politics or if its demands were actually met?

Blair Gadsby, the 45-year-old former owner of an adult-care home and an
adjunct professor of religious studies at a community college, never figured he
would be the type of person to stage a hunger strike outside the Phoenix office
of U.S. Sen. John McCain. But about a year ago, Gadsby convinced himself that the
U.S. government, not terrorists, demolished the World Trade Center buildings in
New York on Sept. 11, 2001. And that belief has turned him into a fasting
activist."I've never been politically active until the 9/11 subject came up," he
said, sitting on a fabric folding chair last week along 16th Street, outside the
complex that houses McCain's Phoenix office.http://www.azcentral.com/arizonarepublic/arizonaliving/articles/0609hungerstrike0609NEW.html#
Fear of the isms: communism, socialism etc. has led to the perception that
the capitalist way is the only way to be without slipping into some sort of
preconceived abyss of eternal sociological damnation. This has led to
complacency and a general acceptance of the status quo: the norm as it is
presented to us. There are no questions asked; there are no protests: there are
no thinkers that can see beyond, to a place and time where things may even work
for all of humanity. We are told that greed is human nature, given examples of a
few people or groups in history that have exemplified this and told that it
encompasses all of humanity.
Richard Skinner, the inspector general of the Department of Homeland
Security, said he could not rule out the possibility that U.S. officials sent
Arar to Syria to be tortured, something the administration has denied for more
than five years.
In his report, he stated officials knew it was "more likely
than not'' that Arar would be tortured if he was returned to his birthplace
rather than Canada, his country of residence.
Professor Ganser: "3,000 humans were sacrificed for strategic interests. The
more we explore, the more we doubt the Bush version. It is conceivable that the
Bush government was responsible. Bush has lied so much already! And we already
know that the US government planned an operation in 1962 that was approved by
the Pentagon that would have sacrificed innocent US citizens for the
government's own interests …We only ask questions."
